2009 May 2nd, Turunç

Fifteen Bee-eaters seen on the north at around 15:00 and they kept on flying. A Tawny Owl's call heard near the hotel's west side at 00:45.

2009 May 1st, Turunç

Thirteen Bee-eaters flew off from northwest to the north and at the same time a Raven jarred over the north rocky hills at around 14:00. I heard the call of a Scops Owl near the hotel at 20.00. Other birds seen in Turunç today: a Blackbird, a Great Tit, a Red-rumped Swallow, an Alpine Swift, Barn Swallows, House Martins, House Sparrows and Collared Doves.

2009 April 28th, Turunç

A Bee-eater seen at the same location as same as on 26th April, a Red-rumped Swallow, Barn Swallows and House Martins (one alighted on the top chimney of the hotel, looked around for a while and then flew off) , House Sparrows and Collared Doves, a Great Tit and a Blackbird seen today, and a Scops Owl heard on the west forest in the evening.

2009 April 26th, Turunç

Six Alpine Swifts flew around a House Martin over the hotel this morning, heard the song of a Blackbird near the hotel afternoon, heard the song of a Scops Owl in the west forest afternoon, heard the call of a Bee-eater over the hotel and it flew alone, kept flying for a while and it flew off when an Alpine Swift got close it , I saw a Corncrake crouched down in the corner of the door of the boiler room at about 19:00, it looked very tired and was shy, it flew a few meters close to the ground, alighted again, hid itself under an idle refrigerator at a run and then it flew off after it stayed there for a while, and also a Great Tit, a Jay, Barn Swallows, House Martins, House Sparrows and Collared Doves seen today.

2009 April 23rd, Turunç

A Blackbird, a Red-rumped Swallow, over fourty Alpine Swifts flew to the east over sea at noon, heard the call of a Bee-eater on the south but I could not spot it, heard the song of two Scops Owls at the same moment on the west forest area at 21:00, Barn Swallows and House Martins, House Sparrows and Collared Doves.

2009 April 21st, Turunç

A Raven jarred in flight from north to the west forest. Twelve Bee-eaters seen on the southwest and six more after them, they flew to the north at noon, nearly twenty minutes later about thirthy or fourty of them appeared in chorus over the west forest, they flew back and forth untill the sunset over Turunç. A Scops Owl's call heard at noon. A Blackbird, A Red-rumped Swallow, Barn Swallows and House Martins, a Great Tit, a White Wagtail, House Sparrows and Collared Doves.

2009 April 20th, Turunç

Nineteen Bee-eaters seen over the west forest and they flew to the north. A Blue Tit seen and heard its song. A Blue Rock Thrush seen in flight. A Red-rumped Swallow together with Barn Swallows and House Martins on the north. Heard the call of a Song Thrush near the hotel I work this morning and another one in the south forest after the sunset. A Blackbird on the north and another one in the south forest before the sunset. A Great Tit, a White Wagtail, House Sparrows and Collared Doves. Heard the call of a Scops Owl near the backyard of the hotel I work at 19:00 and heard another one in an old St. John's Bread Tree by the roadside on the south at 22:00.

2009 April 14th, Turunç

Swifts arrived Turunç. Two Swifts seen on the north, they flew together with House Martins and Barn Swallows and then flew to the east. A Common Buzzard seen over the peaks on the northwest of Turunç where there is a hotel on the hillslopes, and it kept its site in flight like hovering for a couple of seconds, then flew to the west and disappeared behind the peaks. Bee-eaters arrived Turunç. I heard their calls but I could not spot them. Heard the calls of two Scops Owls from the forest on the west at 20:00. A Great Tit, a Blackcap, a Jay, Collared Doves and House Sparrows, too.
