2009 August 30th, Turunç

Two Blackbirds by the road in the west forest. A Raven appeared suddenly by jarring over the red pine trees and rocky hills where there is a waste water treatment system by the sea. And then disappeared beyond the trees far away. Two Yellow-legged Gulls, one was flying towards the north rocky hills, the other was resting on a rocky island near the shore and the ruins of the antique city, Amos. The Raven appeared again and it accompanied the Yellow-legged Gull. A Long-legged Buzzard seen while it was gliding over the place where I saw the Raven first. And it kept flying over the sea, and then I lost it in the background. And also a Common Buzzard seen over the village by the west forest, it was flying very close to the houses and gardens. Two Blackbirds, a Jay, a Coal Tit, a Great Tit by the roadside in the south forest; four Blackbirds in trees and bushes, a Jay in an olive tree on a slope in the west forest, Collared Doves and House Sparrows seen. The Raven I saw first appeared again over the north rocky hills.

A Common Buzzard seen over the peaks on the northwest of Turunç where there is a hotel on the hillslopes, and it kept its site in flight like hovering for a couple of seconds, then flew to the west and disappeared behind the peaks. Bee-eaters arrived Turunç. I heard their calls but I could not spot them. Heard the calls of two Scops Owls from the forest on the west at 20:00. A Great Tit, a Blackcap, a Jay, Collared Doves and House Sparrows, too.
